Four youths die after car falls into canal in Mathura road accident

Four young men lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place when their car crashed into a cemented water tank and then fell into a canal nearly six metres deep.

According to Suresh Chandra Rawat, Superintendent of Police (Rural), the youths were travelling from Mahavan to Deeg through the Govardhan bypass when the incident occurred. While taking a sharp turn on the road, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

The car first rammed into a cemented structure near the roadside. Due to the strong impact, the vehicle overturned and plunged into the nearby canal. The canal was deep, and the car quickly became submerged in water.

Rescue operation in canal

Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing a loud crash. They tried to rescue the occupants of the car but were unable to pull the vehicle out of the canal. The depth of the water and the condition of the car made the rescue difficult.

Police and administrative officials reached the site soon after receiving information about the accident. A rescue operation was launched immediately. After several efforts, a crane was brought to the location to retrieve the submerged vehicle.

The operation took considerable time. When the car was finally pulled out of the canal, all four youths inside were found dead. The tragic incident left the local community in shock.

The deceased have been identified as Rahul (23), Amit (22), Mohit (22), and another friend. All four were residents of the Mahavan police station area. According to officials, they were travelling to Deeg in Rajasthan to attend a wedding when the accident happened.

Police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem examination. An investigation has been started to determine the exact cause of the accident. Officials are examining whether over-speeding or any mechanical failure may have contributed to the crash.

Residents have also raised concerns about road safety at the sharp turn where the accident occurred. Some locals said that the stretch of road may need better warning signs and safety barriers to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Another fatal accident in Nagpur

In a separate incident, two college students were killed in a road accident in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The accident happened late at night near Danapani Hotel.

According to police officials, the two youths were riding a newly purchased high-powered motorcycle. The rider was identified as 19-year-old Yug Vishal Chankapure, and his friend Rudra Shashikant Somkuwar was riding pillion. Both were residents of Ramdaspeth in Nagpur.

Police said neither of them was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Around 10 pm, a 16-year-old girl named Gunjan Kokarde was crossing the road when the speeding motorcycle reportedly lost control. The bike first hit the girl and then crashed into a roadside safety barrier.

The two students died due to the severe injuries they suffered in the crash. The teenage girl was seriously injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officials said that the motorcycle was being driven at high speed, which may have led to the loss of control. The accident has once again highlighted the importance of road safety measures such as wearing helmets and controlling speed.

Both incidents have raised serious concerns about reckless driving and road safety in different parts of the country. In Mathura, a sharp turn and possible loss of control led to the deaths of four youths. In Nagpur, high speed and the absence of helmets contributed to a fatal crash.

Authorities have urged drivers to follow traffic rules strictly, reduce speed on sharp turns, and wear safety gear at all times. Families of the victims are mourning their loss, while police continue their investigations into both accidents.

These tragic events serve as a reminder of how quickly a moment of negligence on the road can lead to devastating consequences.
